If you look at a cosmetic cream under the microscope, you can see from the size of the oil droplets how finely the water and oil components have mixed. The finer the oil droplets, the better the cream can be worked into the skin. A parameter that plays an important role in the manufacture of a cream and thus delivers the best quality.

Additional information

A cosmetic base cream is usually a dispersion of water in oil or oil in water, also called an emulsion. In order for water and oil to mix, you need an emulsifier and energy. If you look at a finished emulsion under the microscope, you can see from the size of the oil droplets how finely the two components have mixed. The finer the oil droplets, the better the cream can be worked into the skin. A parameter that plays an important role in the manufacture of a cream and thus delivers the best quality.
