Cucumbers are processed during a short harvest period of approximately ten weeks a year. Harvesters on so-called "cucumber planes" carefully pick the cucumbers by hand to avoid bruising. After sorting and washing, the cucumbers are filled into jars and covered with marinating liquid. Since the natural shape of the cucumbers makes it impossible to specify the exact fill volume, each jar is check-weighed. Check-weighing enables precise readjustment, prevents overfilling, reduces material waste, and ensures that every product meets quality requirements – for consistent, fair, and trustworthy results in retail.
