Checking the salt level in the aquarium for marine fish
View all other applicationsApplication Description
Salinity, also known as salinity, is a crucial factor in the well-being of marine life in an aquarium. Regularly checking the salinity can ensure that the conditions in the aquarium are optimal for the health of the fish and other sea creatures.
Additional information
Aquarium owners and breeders of marine organisms use analog refractometers to monitor salinity and water quality in their aquariums. The salt content (salinity) of seawater is on average 3.5%. That's 35 grams of salt per kilo of water. Since the salt content is not dependent on temperature, it always remains the same when the water temperature changes. Accurate control of salinity is critical to the well-being of marine life and maintaining a stable aquarium ecosystem. A refractometer is a precise instrument used to measure salinity in water. It works by measuring the refraction of light caused by the dissolved salts in the water.
