Additional information

Cathodic dip painting (KTL) is an electrochemical process in which the object is coated in a bath of aqueous dip paint under a direct voltage of up to 400 volts and 4,500 amps. The lacquer layer crosslinks to form a homogeneous, closed film. This creates a solvent- and corrosion-resistant coating that is resistant to acids and alkalis. After painting the workpiece for automobile construction, a layer thickness measuring device is used to check whether a specified layer thickness (10-50µm) is present. This check is very important in order to meet the client's benchmarks.
