Most of the raw silk is obtained from the cocoon of the real silk moth. The caterpillars have put on 10,000 times their weight from hatching from the egg until the end of the feeding period. With a hatching weight of 0.45 mg, they ultimately reach a weight of 4-5 g. The final weight check is an indispensable criterion for determining the maturation of the caterpillars
