Good dry food for animals should contain meat meal, preferably with the name of the animal, for example poultry meal, beef meal or meat meal made from insects. Skin, feathers and the like are also used in production. Unlike the pure meat that we eat as a Sunday roast, which contains around 70% water and 10% protein, animal meal consists of up to 80% protein and only 5% water. This makes it particularly easy to achieve a certain protein content in the food. If the food is mixed with animal meal or insect meal, containers of 50g-2kg are packaged and weighed to check. A table scale is used for this, which should be calibrated. This control prevents too little being packaged, which could lead to complaints. If too much is packaged, however, this reduces the return.
