Additional information

Artificial stone refers to mineral, cement or resin-bound materials that are made with aggregates of gravel, sand and rock powder. Artificial sandstone has a very high bulk density and is therefore particularly heavy compared to the other solid building materials such as aerated concrete, brick and wood. This gives it very good properties in terms of sound insulation. Artificial sandstones are artificial wall stones made from quicklime (calcium oxide), quartz sand and water. Lime and sand are mixed in a ratio of 1:12 with the addition of water and fed into the reaction container. The quicklime is converted into hydrated lime and the mixture is brought to pressing moisture. This pressing moisture should be 6%-8% so that the firing process can proceed continuously. Checking with a moisture analyzer is essential to avoid rejects.
