Additional information

There are hygienic risks in the agricultural use of sewage sludge due to the absorption of infectious pathogens into cultivated plants. It is therefore very important to examine the so-called activated sludge for E-coli bacteria or salmonella, for example. To do this, a phase contrast microscope is used, with which the structures can be visualized very well. The result of this study has a significant influence on whether the diversity of the microorganisms allows the sewage sludge to be applied to agricultural land
