In German prisons, work is compulsory and many prisoners find their job a welcome change. The prisoners are employed under the supervision of experienced craftsmen and industrial masters. This involves work in the areas of metalworking, carpentry, laundry or kitchen. There is also work in the service area. For example, filling assembly sets, i.e. bags with a certain number of screws, washer screws, dowels or similar that are needed to assemble a specific object. These small assembly parts are filled by weight. The use of a counting scale is recommended here. Especially when it comes to small parts in large quantities, counting the individual parts manually is very time-consuming and often error-prone. A counting scale enables safe and error-minimizing inventory recording or checking in a fraction of the time that would be required with conventional counting. This saves time and therefore costs.
