When producing components for the aviation industry, their technical cleanliness is of the utmost importance. Contamination caused by particles adhering to the surface can not only shorten the service life of the workpieces, but can also cause much greater damage. To prevent this, as part of cleanliness analyzes during the manufacturing process, individual components are taken as samples to be examined for contamination and the analyzed values are then compared with manufacturer-specific standards. A polarizing microscope is used here, which is ideal for these checks.
