Moisture analyser

Application number: EN - 1636

When it comes to plastic injection molding, the perfect condition of the granulate plays an important role. For this reason, the granulate is checked for moisture when it arrives at the goods receiving point. This check ensures that the injection molding process can run without errors and that rejects, such as streaks, are avoided.

Additional information

The composition of the plastic plays a key role in plastic injection molding. Granules used in the injection molding process can absorb moisture, which negatively affects the polymer structure. This leads to defects in the final product such as surface defects, blistering and reduced mechanical strength. For this reason, the granulate is checked for moisture when it is received. A moisture analyzer is used here. This is a quick method of carrying out this check. The check ensures that the injection molding process works perfectly and that rejects are avoided.
