Additional information

Determining the bacteriological properties of the milk is also important for the production of dry milk. An increased number of germs in the delivered milk indicates weaknesses in hygiene during milk production and milk storage. According to the Milk Quality Ordinance, the germ content of the delivered milk must be checked at least twice a month. The number of microorganisms is recorded using a fluorescence microscope and given in colony-forming units (CFU).
