Microscopic inspection of gypsum particles after desulfurization of flue gases

Transmitted light microscopes | KERN OBE-S
The so-called FGD gypsum is produced during the desulfurization of flue gases in waste incineration plants that are fired with fossil fuels. After burning, the gypsum is available as powdered anhydrite and hemihydrate. The gypsum particles should be checked microscopically for size and shape to ensure quality. This ensures compliance with the Q1-Q4 classification, which is prescribed by law and determines the value and price of the gypsum.
